Installation of Belgian topside for offshore substation marks milestone in further construction of Merkur Offshore Wind Farm

The topside for the offshore substation for the Merkur Offshore Wind Farm has been installed over the weekend. This piece of technology is the result of a close cooperation between Belgian companies that are major players in the international offshore wind energy market. With companies like Tractebel (engineering), ENGIE-Fabricom (electromechanics), Iemants (steel constructions) and GeoSea (contracting) Flanders had developed a leading cluster of offshore wind energy experts, executing the most complex projects on the European market.

Vroon Offshore Services and Ampelmann join forces for Arkona wind farm project

Vroon Offshore Services and Ampelmann have joined forces to deploy a Walk to Work (W2W) solution for the Arkona offshore wind farm, located in the German Baltic Sea. Vroon’s VOS Stone vessel, the newest addition to its offshore-support fleet, will be mobilised with an Ampelmann A400 gangway system. The gangway, launched in 2017, will be utilised for the first time for W2W operations during array cabling work and commissioning of the Arkona offshore wind farm.

Rentel substation sails away for offshore installation

First Monopiles for Hornsea Project 1 have left EEW SPC

The first six monopiles for the Ørsted project Hornsea Project 1 were loaded at the quay in Rostock from 18th to 21st December 2017. With the crane vessel „SVENJA“ from the company SAL Heavylift the foundations, which are all about 65 m long and weigh 800 tonnes each, will now be on the way to Able Seaton Port in Great Britain, where they will be temporarily stored until installation commences.

As of 1 January 2018, the offshore wind service company WINDEA Offshore acquires with Buss Offshore Solutions GmbH & Co. KG another shareholder. In the future, the already very extensive service portfolio for the construction and operation of offshore wind farms of the WINDEA Group will be supplemented by the terminals and logistics services of the Buss Group.
