92 MW offshore wind farm being built near Scottish East Coast


The Swedish energy company Vattenfall has bought Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group’s 25% share of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) also known as “Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm”. With this the company now fully owns the project, which was developed together with AREG.

The Netherlands’ Minister of Economic Affairs has awarded DONG Energy the concession to build the offshore wind farms Borssele 1 and 2 that are expected to be the cheapest worldwide.

Tendering process for offshore wind farm Albatros has been initiated


In order to determine whether the offshore wind farm Albatros in the North Sea is economically and technically feasible, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG has initiated the tendering process for the combined lot 'wind energy plant, foundations and offshore substation' and for the lot 'cable work within the wind farm'.

DONG Energy builds offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund 2

DONG Energy has decided to build the offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund 2 in the German North Sea, which is expected to be fully commissioned in the first half of 2019.

The construction of Floatgen is officially underway

Equipped with a ring-shaped floating foundation developed and patented by the French expert Ideol, and built by Bouygues Travaux Publics in Saint-Nazaire Port, France’s first offshore wind turbine will be installed on the Centrale Nantes offshore test site, SEM-REV, off the coast from Le Croisic.

DNV GL will be providing project certification for the Arkona wind farm

E.ON has awarded the project certification contract for the Arkona offshore wind farm to DNV GL. The project covers inspections for the phases manufacturing, transport, installation, and commissioning to put the wind farm into operation.

EDF Energy Renewables starts construction of Blyth offshore wind farm


EDF Energy Renewables is to build an offshore wind farm off the coast of Blyth in Northumberland, UK. Construction work for the project has begun onshore and offshore work will start in 2017.
