Bilfinger Marine & Offshore Systems has successfully finished the foundation installation for the € 1.2 billion offshore wind farm Sandbank.

Dong Energy has agreed to take over RES Americas Developments Inc.’s more than 1,000 MW newly assigned development project rights off the coast of New Jersey. The New Jersey lease is the second U.S. lease area for Dong.

UK Green Investment Bank Offshore Wind Fund and funds managed by BlackRock invest £ 423 million in the acquisition of GLID from Centrica and EIG. Hereinafter, Lynn and Inner Dowsing will become UK’s first 100 % non-utility owned offshore wind farms.

EnBW will provide services for the construction of the Wikinger offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea to Iberdrola. The contract runs for two years and covers services dealing with the coordination of shipping traffic, health and safety and environmental protection at the construction site.

Dong Energy has made a final investment decision to build the Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm in the UK. With a capacity of 1.2 GW, Hornsea will on completion be the world’s first offshore wind farm to exceed 1 GW in capacity and by a large margin become the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

Strabag OW EVS, a joint venture of the Austrian company Strabag and the Norderland Group, has sold two of its projects. The offshore wind farm Albatros was acquired by EnBW. The OWP West project was purchased by Dong Energy.

While debt funding for the € 410 million offshore wind project Nordergründe had already been arranged in June 2015 by European Investment Bank (EIB) and KfW IPEX Bank, a new co-investor, Gothaer Leben Renewables GmbH, has recently acquired an equity stake in the project.

Siemens has been awarded its first commercial offshore wind order from Finland: the company will supply, install and commission 10 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 4 MW and a rotor diameter of 130 m, for the Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea.

FoundOcean has completed the grouting of the foundations at Gemini wind farm on behalf of the main contractor, Van Oord. For the first time, BASF’s new grouting material MasterFlow 9800 was used.
