On July 1st, Westermost Rough offshore wind farm was officially inaugurated. It is the first commercial offshore project using Siemens’ D6 platform.

Gwynt y Môr offshore wind farm officially inaugurated


On June 18th, the Gwynt y Môr offshore wind farm, located eight miles offshore in Liverpool Bay, was officially inaugurated. With an installed capacity of 576 MW, Gwynt y Môr is the world’s 2nd largest offshore wind farm. Reason enough for RWE to publish a pompous video.

Baltic Taucherei is expanding its business. With grouting works at E.ON’s Amrumbank West offshore wind farm the company has completed its first offshore wind grouting support service.

CT Offshore installs first cable on Gode Wind

On 8 June 2015, CT Offshore’s Cable Laying Vessel SIA installed the first cable on Dong Energy’s Gode Wind offshore wind farm in the German part of the North Sea. SIA will install all of the 97 inter-array cables.

ScottishPower Renewables chooses Siemens for East Anglia One

ScottishPower Renewables has selected Siemens as turbine supplier for the East Anglia One offshore windfarm, in the biggest deal ever concluded for a consented project in the UK’s wind energy sector. The turbine agreement will see up to 102 of Siemens’ 7 MW turbines supplied.

ITW has finished grouting work at Amrumbank offshore wind farm. The connections between transition piece and monopile have been grouted with the cementitious material Ducorit and the installation was completed by highly skilled supervisors.

Dong Energy chooses MHI Vestas for Borkum Riffgrund 2

Dong Energy has chosen MHI Vestas Offshore Wind as preferred supplier for the proposed delivery of the V164-8.0 MW wind turbine for the Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm in Germany. The preferred supplier status is a result of a competitive tender conducted by Dong.

CWind will supply a three months corrosion protection campaign to Westermost Rough. The company will deliver an integrated service package that includes a crew transfer vessel as well as a team of technicians to undertake the full range of required tasks.

Westermost Rough reaches full power output


Full power output has been achieved at the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm. It is the first offshore wind farm to make commercial use of the Siemens 6 MW wind turbine.

RWE Innogy has inaugurated the offshore wind farm Nordsee Ost. A symbolic 'plugging-in' ceremony took place on the transformer platform HelWin Alpha in the German North Sea.
