After several weeks of test operation, TenneT has now approved the offshore platform BorWin beta delivered by Siemens. The grid connection for the BorWin2 cluster can now begin commercial operation.

Iberdrola and Areva signed their largest renewables contract so far with a volume of € 620 million for the supply of wind turbines to the 350 MW offshore wind park Wikinger. In cooperation with its joint venture partner Gamesa, Areva will deliver 70 wind turbines of the M5000-135 type and provide maintenance services.

Dong Energy has decided to construct the offshore wind farm Burbo Bank Extension located 8 km off the United Kingdom coast in Liverpool Bay. The 258 MW project is the first commercial order for 32 of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind’s V164-8.0 MW wind turbines.

Over Christmas, the last of the in total 48 wind turbines of the offshore wind farm Nordsee Ost was successfully installed around 30 km north the island Heligoland in the German Bight.
