Turbine installation completed at Dudgeon

At the beginning of September A2SEA’s Sea Challenger completed the installation of 67 Siemens 6 MW turbines on the 402 MW Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm.

New maintenance contracts for OWF DanTysk and OWF Sandbank

The independent service provider Deutsche Windtechnik and the energy supplier Vattenfall are expanding their cooperation in offshore maintenance: On the one hand, Vattenfall has extended the duration of its cooperation agreement with Deutsche Windtechnik in the area of maintenance for all steel structures at the offshore wind farm DanTysk. On the other, the service provider is now also responsible for these important maintenance tasks at Sandbank, Vattenfall's second major offshore wind farm project Sandbank, which went into operation in July 2017.

Walney Extension West offshore wind park producing power in the UK

MHI Vestas and DONG Energy have confirmed that power is now flowing from the Walney Extension West offshore wind park’s first turbine installed 19 km off the coast of Cumbria, in the Irish Sea

ABB to provide BESS for the integration of Burbo Bank offshore wind farm

The integration of wind energy is a big challenge in today’s grid management, as the power output immensely depends on the current weather situation. To help facing this challenge ABB will supply a Battery Energy Storage System to DONG Energy.

EEW SPC has been awarded two new orders

The Rostock based company EEW Special Pipe Constructions (EEW SPC) has been awarded two new orders for the delivery of 205 monopiles in total. 174 of the foundations are meant to be for Hornsea Project One, the world’s first wind farm with a capacity of more than one Gigawatt. 31 monopiles have been ordered by the Dutch marine contractor Van Oord.

New ownership of Dogger Bank projects announced

The ownership arrangements for the four consented Dogger Bank offshore wind projects have been agreed and signed by the three Forewind shareholders, innogy, SSE and Statoil.

ABB wins order to support integration of offshore wind energy in the UK

ScottishPower Renewables has placed an order with ABB. Using ABBs technologies the company is hoping to integrate the East Anglia ONE project in the best possible way.

TenneT and GE have successfully installed the DolWin3 offshore converter station in the south-western German North Sea, approximately 80 kilometers from land.
