VBMS to install cables for Kriegers Flak

VBMS has been awarded a contract by nkt cables for the installation of approximately 50 km of 150 kV AC high-voltage submarine cables for the Kriegers Flak combined grid solution.

In December America’s first offshore wind farm began generating electricity in the waters near Block Island, Rhode Island. It is the first commercial offshore wind farm in the United States.

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind won the competitive tender process and was awarded the contract for the 370 MW Norther offshore wind power plant in Belgium.

Turbine installation completed at Burbo Bank Extension

In December 2016, A2SEA’s Sea Installer completed the installation of 32 MHI Vestas 8 MW turbines at DONG Energy’s Burbo Bank Extension in the Irish Sea.

Dutch consortium to construct second Borssele offshore wind farm

The second Borssele offshore wind farm in the Dutch part of the North Sea will be built by Shell, Van Oord, Eneco and Mitsubishi/DGE. The 700 MW wind farm is expected to be constructed and operated with a subsidy of just 0.3 billion EUR – 2 billion EUR below what was originally anticipated.

EEW SPC will supply monopiles for Hornsea Project 1

EEW Special Pipe Constructions has been awarded an order from the Danish energy company DONG Energy to manufacture 116 monopiles for the 1.2 GW-sized offshore wind park Hornsea Project 1.

Offshore contract Seaway Heavy Lifting has been awarded a contract by Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II for engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the turbine foundations for Trianel Windpark Borkum II in the German North Sea.

First power from DONG Energy’s Burbo Bank Extension

With the initial wind turbines recently installed at Burbo Bank Extension Offshore Wind Farm, power is now being exported to the UK grid. This is the first time the Vestas 8 MW wind turbines have been used commercially offshore, and the successful energisation is an important step in the project. The park is a joint venture between DONG Energy and its partners PKA and KIRKBI A/S.

SOC awarded contract for Hornsea Offshore One cable work

Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH (SOC) has been awarded the contract for the transport and installation of parts of the inner array grid cable system for the Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm Project One by DONG Energy.

Vattenfall wins tender to build Kriegers Flak

Vattenfall has won the tender to build Danish Kriegers Flak, a 600 MW offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. The winning bid was 49.9 €/MWh, which is among the lowest costs in the world for offshore wind power.
