Husum Wind 2019: New concept for the fair

Following WindEnergy Hamburg, the industry is now looking expectantly towards Husum, where Husum Wind, the leading national wind trade fair will be held from 10 to 13 September 2019.

On the evening of 19 December, 2018, EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH loaded the last three monopiles for the German offshore wind project Deutsche Bucht in the Rostock port.

ZF’s first wind turbine gearboxes equipped with a Schaeffler cloud connection go into operation

Schaeffler and ZF use jointly developed expert models to analyze and predict the condition of wind turbine gearboxes based on the actual loads that occur during operation

ZF Friedrichshafen and Schaeffler are collaborating to develop new solutions for predicting the operating life of wind turbine gearbox components based on the actual loads that occur during operation. Since September, the first wind turbine gearboxes equipped with sensors and condition monitoring systems have been supplying operating data to a cloud-to-cloud solution to enable this to happen.

Governments and businesses join forces for significant offshore wind volumes

The governments of leading offshore wind markets, Germany, Belgium and Denmark, together with industry captains signed a Joint Statement to further the deployment of offshore wind energy in Europe.

Bidding prices hit the bottom: Exceedingly few people were expecting this; amazingly, three out of the four successful projects in Germany’s first round of offshore tendering bid a price of 0.00 cents per kilowatt hour. The bidders, the Danish energy supplier Dong Energy and the German energy company EnBW, want to refinance their investments solely via the electricity market.

Sandbank Offshore Wind Farm fully commissioned

The offshore wind power plant Sandbank, located 90 kilometres west of the island of Sylt, is now fully installed and commissioned. On 21 January the installation vessel MPI Adventure together with Siemens erected the last turbine. Four days after that the last turbine “SB41” has achieved ‘final commissioning’ already

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind wins record order for Borkum Riffgrund 2
